Post 8 is located just blocks from the U.S. Capitol Building and receives many visitors from American Legion posts across the nation. Post 8 welcomes guests and members from other posts.  Post 8 operates a small lounge for members and their guests. The Bar Manager on duty will ask to see membership cards. All guests and members from other posts must sign in. Active duty service members are welcome and typically signed in by one of any of the members in the lounge.

Washington Metropolitan Area Transit Authority (www.wmata.com) – Post 8 is located just two blocks from Capitol South Metro Station.

 

Capital Bikeshare (http://www.capitalbikeshare.com/) – Rent bikes for a day at a time to take around the monuments and museums. There’s a bike station right outside Post 8’s door on the corner of 3rd St and D St, Southeast.

The Hill Rag (http://www.capitalcommunitynews.com/) – Post 8 is located on Capitol Hill (the neighborhood right by the U.S. Capitol Building) and the Hill Rag is a neighborhood magazine that visitors to “The Hill” may find useful for things to do during their visit.
